In this day and age ladies trousers are favoured and worn by women of all ages; even the Queen has been seen wearing trousers on an occasion which is a huge step forward from days gone by when it was actually against the law for females to wear trousers. It was only as recent as the early 20th century when ladies trousers became popular and then they had very wide legs and high waists, pretty much like long culottes.
